R. Edgar Green, 614 John St., a retired potter, died Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. at the home, after an illness of two months. He was 73. Mr. Green was born here Jan. 26, 1888 to Robert Green and Mary Ramsey Green, and was a lifetime resident. He was a jiggerman at the Homer Laughlin China Co. for 50 years. After retiring, he worked as a maintenance man at the Skyview Theater for three years. He was a member of the Orchard Grove Community Methodist Church and the IBOP Local 12. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Green at home; two sons, Robert W. Green of East Liverpool and Richard Green of Parma; a step-son Paul Rodell of Pittsburgh; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (June) Dawes of Lisbon, Mrs. Robert (Mary Ella) Halverstadt of Marblehead, Mass., Mrs. Joseph (Marjorie) Fair of Guilford Lake and Mrs. Gail (Betty) Wallace of Youngstown; a brother, Frank Green of Beaver Falls; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Peterson of Florida and 18 grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. James Gardner. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.
