Dr. Thomas Johnson

SALEM-Thomas Brock Johnson, D.D.S, died peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, April 1 at his home in Salem, Ohio. He was born May 13, 1940 in Jamestown, New York to the late Merle and Althea Johnson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1958.

After earning his degree in dentistry, Mr. Johnson enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Reserve Commissioned Officer and worked in the Dental Detachment Unit in Fort Carson, Colorado. He and his family then moved to Salem where he opened his own dental practice.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Betsy” Johnson currently residing in Sebring, Ohio; his son Mark residing in Santa Monica, California; daughter Sarah residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; son Daniel residing in Boston, Massachusetts; and sister Patricia Ross residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem. The Reverend Nick Mager will officiate the services. Preceding this memorial service, the family will hold a private burial Saturday morning in Grandview Cemetery with the Salem Honor Guard rendering full honors.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10 at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem. The family will also receive friends on Saturday after the services in Fellowship Hall.
