Helma I. Johnson, 89, formerly of Sugar Street, died at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday (May 1, 1996) at the Nentwick Convalescent Home where she had been a patient the last eight years.
She was born Jan. 12, 1907, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., the daughter of Gustave and Mary B. Tennerovitz Hayberg, and had resided in East Liverpool most of her adult life.
Mrs. Johnson was employed as a night chief operator at Ohio Bell for 31 years, before retiring. She attended the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by a son, G. Robert Johnson of East Liverpool; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home with the Dr. Robert Buckley of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
