Elaine T. “Toad” (Meyers) King, 81, Sandusky, died Friday evening, Sept. 7, 2012, in her residence.

She was born May 28, 1931, in Sandusky, to John and Katherin (Ehrnsberger) Meyers.

Elaine graduated from St. Mary Central Catholic High School. She was employed by GM for 31 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of UAW 913. She was a caring person who loved to cook and feed people, loved yard work, and loved spending time with her family.

Elaine is survived by her children, Cindy (Dominick) Esposito, Sandusky, Jodi King, Connecticut, Heather (Dominic) Cantu, Huron, Ricky (Tammy) King, Norwalk, and Chad (Amanda) King, Huron; grandchildren, Shane, Amanda, Jennifer, and Jacob; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Wayne (Maurita) Meyers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. King, on June 28, 1987; parents; son, Roger King, in 2005; grandson, Ian; sisters, Ester Wobser, Juanita King, Genieve Shaszar, and Betty Brisley; and brothers, Edward, Roland, Bill, Donny, Jack, and Eugene.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
