Lavina Mary (Weisenberger) Kocher, age 93, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Norwalk, to Henry and Frieda (Camp) Weisenberger. She was a 1936 graduate of St. Paul High School, and married Everett in 1939.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and its Ladies of the Church, St. Paul Athletic Boosters, Firelands Senior Center, and the Golden Eagles of Monroeville.

Lavina was a Red Cross blood donor for 50 years and donated over 18 gallons of blood. She was an accomplished seamstress who worked out of the home for many years. After retirement she and Everett moved to Florida until 1987.

She is survived by her sons, James (Carol) Kocher and Thomas (Ann) Kocher of Norwalk; daughter, Sally Kocher of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Snyder; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Everett Kocher; brothers, Cletus and George Weisenberger; and a sister, Dorothy Scheel.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
