Ernest M. Koehler, 72, of 41 Fourth Avenue, Freedom, died suddenly at his home Monday (May 6, 1968) as a result of a heart attack.

Born September 10, 1895 in Pittsburgh, he had been a Freedom resident for 60 years. He was a retired employee of the Freedom Valvoline Oil Co., and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Freedom. He was a director of Oak Grove Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Rich, Freedom and Mrs. William (Lenore) Stratton, Grand Prairie, Texas; a son, Ernest W. Koehler, Monaca; 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Karl Whiteleather, Mrs. Anna Moss and Mrs. Clara Cope, all of Rochester; and a brother Fred Kuppinger, Rochester.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Jean, in 1933 and his wife, Mary Jane Bailey Koehler in 1949.

Friends are being received at the Jack L. Gross Funeral Home, Freedom, from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
