HUGH LYNCH
CHESTER- Hugh Lynch, 73, a resident of 434 Indiana avenue, former postmaster of Chester for 13 years, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after a long illness at his home.
He was born in Austintown, Ohio and has resided in Chester for the past 54 years. He was a former president of the Hancock County Board of Education and a member of the Chester Board of Education. Mr. Lynch retired from the postmaster position in 1952.
Mr. Lynch was a postmaster of Chester Lodge, AF and AM, 142, and held a 32 Scottish Rites Degree in Wheeling.
He was married to the former Janet Nicholas in Lisbon, Ohio on February 7, 1900. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Don Richardson of Lisbon, Ohio, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. C.E. Hunt of Alliance, Ohio; two brothers, John Lynch, Pueblo, Colorado, Charles Lynch, East Liverpool, Ohio, a half brother, George Crawford, Alliance, Ohio and a half sister, Mrs. William Obney, Alliance, Ohio.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the late residence with Rev. William Claghorn of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call at the late residence today and Friday.
