Mr. Manypenny

New Cumberland – Richard Manypenny, 58, of 1202 3rd Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at Weirton General Hospital this morning. He had been ill the last four years. He was born Oct. 27, 1917, in New Cumberland, a son of Arch Manypenny and Nora Kenny Manypenny. Mr. Manypenny was a former employe of the strip steel 54-inch hot mill of Weirton Steel, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Adam Poe Post 3526, Veterans of Foreign Wars, at New Cumberland and the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Alice (Barmer) Manypenny at home, he is survived by two sons, Robert Manypenny, at home, and John Manypenny of New Cumberland RD 2; two brothers, Joseph Manypenny of New Cumberland and Sam Manypenny of Chester, and two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Kay) Lentsch of Fontana, Calif., and Mrs. Clovis (Elsie) Glover of New Cumberland. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Fields Funeral Home, with Thomas Hess of the New Cumberland Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at New Manchester. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight after 7 and Thursday afternoon and night.
