Ruth (Long) Manypenny, 106, of Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Stone Pear Pavilion.

She was born March 7, 1905 in New Cumberland. a daughter of the late Frank E. and Bertha (Luke) Long.

Ruth is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Scott “Toddy” Manypenny in 1977. Also by 5 brothers, Byran, Sherman, Charles, Dwight and Frank Long, Jr.; and 4 sisters, Margaret Baxter, Catheryn Pitcock, Bertha and Maxine Long.

Ruth was a retired Dresser from Homer Laughlin China Co; and was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church.

Surviving are her daughter Ilene Veronica (Manypenny) (Richard) Rodgers of New Cumberland; 5 grandchildren, Kerri Lyn (Charles) Petry of Belle, WV, Sherri (Peter) Brown of Gold River, CA, R. Terrance (Karen) Rodgers of Charleston, Beth Ann (Richard) Powell of New Philadelphia, OH, Robert Randell (April) Rodgers of Charlottesville, VA; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

Services were held at the New Cumberland Christian Church on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Rick Tinsky officiating. Interment followed in the New Cumberland Cemetery.

Turley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
