NEMITH, Virginia L. “Jenny” Bowen, 80, of New Cumberland, W.Va., passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Fox Nursing Home; Chester, W.Va.
She was born May 18, 1928 in Charleston, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Nora (Gibson) Bowen. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Louis Nemith (1981); and three brothers, David, John and William Bowen.
Jenny was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was in the funeral choir at the church; was a member of the VFW Post No. 3526 Ladies Auxiliary; and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph G. Nemith at home; one daughter, Virginia Ann Nemith of Newell, W.Va.; two sons, Joseph William (Pam) Nemith of Fort Srnith, Ark. and James Matthew Nemith of Ravenna, Ohio; one sister, Ann Mallett of Dunbar, W.Va.; one brother, Thomas Bowen of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Douglas Sutton as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
