Obituary – J. J. Purinton, Sr.

J. J. Purinton, Sr., aged 70 years, of this city, died suddenly at the home of his niece, Mrs. U. C. King, in Warren, O., Saturday morning (September 2, 1911).
Deceased who is a veteran of the Civil War and an Uncle of State Senator J. J. Purinton, was taken suddenly ill about a week ago at the home of Mrs. King where he has been visiting for the past three weeks.
For years the late Mr. Purinton had been engaged in the blacksmith business here. He was well known and highly esteemed. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Grand Army of the Republic. The deceased was unmarried.
The remains have been brought to this city and removed to the home of a nephew, George F. Purinton on Orchard grove avenue. Funeral services over the remains will be held at 2 o’clock this afternoon. General Lyon Post, G.A.R., will be in charge. Friends may view the remains until 11 a.m. today.
