Obituary – May Ramsey
East Liverpool Tribune

A victim of the dreaded black diphtheria, little May Ramsey, the seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ramsey of Cannons Mills, died at the home at 8:30 o’clock yesterday morning (January 29, 1912), after having been ill but one week.

The girl was taken ill on Monday last week with a sore throat and the family thought at first that it was tonsillitis. Dr. Lemmon of this city was called to attend to the case, and pronounced it black diphtheria. The child was a pupil a the Township Line school house and was a favorite with her instructor and playmates.

Besides the parents, she is survived by Grace, a three-year-old sister.

Burial will be made in the United Presbyterian church cemetery at Calcutta, this morning.
