Obituary – Mrs. Dorcas Ramsay

Mrs. Dorcas Ramsay died at her home, Wood Street; between Eighth and Ninth, Wellsville, Saturday, March 6, at 9 p.m., aged 65, having been taken ill of heart trouble at 11 a.m. of the same day. She was the widow of Frank Ramsay, who died about 20 years ago, and leaves six children – four daughters and two sons, as follows: Mrs. Robert Green, Calcutta; Mrs. Harry Kerns, Corry, PA; Mrs. George Richards, East Liverpool; Miss Dora Ramsay and Joseph and John Ramsay, at the old home, Wellsville. Deceased was for between 40 and 45 years a consistent member of the M.E. church. A short time before her death she repeated the 23d Psalm, “The Lord’s My Shepherd,” and sang “Oh, the blood, the precious blood.” The funeral took place Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. J.B. Goff officiating and the remains were laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Note: Dorcas was not buried in Spring Hill Cemetery.
