ALLEN RICH CLAIMED BY DEATH – Sudden and unexpected was the death of Allen Rich, prosperous and well-known farmer of the district southwest of this city, who succumbed Wednesday morning (May 7, 1919) at 11:30 o’clock after a brief illness with influenza.

For a number of years, Mr. Rich had been a sufferer with asthma, but it was only a few days ago that he was stricken with influenza, which proved fatal.

The subject of this sketch was born some sixty years ago at Industry, PA. He was married to Miss Kathryn Snyder and with his wife his is survived by one son, Harry S. Rich; one brother, John Rich and five grandchildren, all of who reside in the immediate vicinity.

For a number of years, Mr. Rich was a prominent jeweler at Beaver Falls and it was within the past four years that the family moved to this vicinity, locating on the farm three miles southwest of this city, known as the Rich Sisters Farm.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and a neighbor and friend who was highly respected by many friends.

The funeral will occur from the late home at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, with the Rev. D. R. Turnbull officiating. The remains will be taken to New Waterford for interment.
