Walter R. Rich, 81, of New Sewickley Township, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Ellwood City Hospital.

Born July 6, 1923 in Unity, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Inez B. Kerr Rich. Mr. Rich was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran who served as a Courier at the Nuremburg Trials.

He is survived by two stepchildren, Janice Black and Donald E. McClain; four sisters, Laura Phillips, Alice Stear, Mildred Lang, all of Beaver Falls and Martha Wright of California. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally McClain Rich, who died on April 11, 1989; three brothers, Allen, Jack and Robert Rich and a sister, Kathryn Dever.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 324 E. Grandview Avenue., Zelienople, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday with Rev. Carl. A. Stewart, pastor emeritus of St. John’s Burry’s church, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Peter’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople.
