James T. Richards, 82, of New Brighton, formerly of Fair Oaks, died Monday, May 13, 2013, in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born June 13, 1930, in Hollidaysburg, PA, a son of the late Thomas and Regina Farren Richards, he retired from the H.H. Robertson Company. A proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was past commander of the American Legion, Philipsburg, PA, past commander of Baden American Legion, past commander of Ambridge American Legion, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Janet Harvey Richards; a son, David A. Richards, Monaca; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patti Debogovich, Baden; Mary and Lester Hamilton, Monaca, and Linda and Michael Kampmeyer, Georgetown; a sister, Alice Peightal, Erie; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. The Rev. Father Cletus Fahrion will officiate.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home to provide full military honors.
In lieu of lowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff in CCU and Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley Beaver, for their care and compassion they gave Jim.
