WAR VETERAN CALLED BY DEATH
Thomas J. Richardson, Succumbs Yesterday at Home of Son in This City,
THOMAS J. RICHARDSON, aged 73, died at noon yesterday at the home of his son, A. U. Richardson, 232 West Fifth street. Death followed a three weeks’ illness of complications.
Deceased was one of the best known men in the county, having been born in West Middleton township, April 29, 1846, and residing there practially all his life, until he came to the home of his son recently.
He was a member of the G. A. R., having served in the Civil war as a member of the 26th Light Artillery, Ohio Volunteers. His wife, preceded him in death 16 years ago. He is survived by his son, W.(?) U. Richardson, of this city and one daughter, Mrs. J. M. McLean, of New Galilee, Pa.; also eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this evening at the home of his son, West Fifth street, at 7:30. Rev. J. J. Wyeth pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church will officate. The ritual of the G. A. R. will also be carried out.
Interment will be made Tuesday morning in Archer cemetery, near Negley. Burial will be made at 11 o’clock.
