Mrs. Ellen Gilson
Lisbon – Mrs. Ellen Gilson, 78, widow of John Gilson, formerly of East Liverpool, died today in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Clunk. Mrs. Gilson was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Liverpool. Besides her daughter, she leaves two sons, Oscar Gilson, East Liverpool, and John Gilson, Madison township; three brothers, Lee and Blair Allison, Lisbon, and Steen Allison, Avanmore, Pa., and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Bolles and Mrs. Mary Ward, East Liverpool, and Mrs. Harriet Newman, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 2:50 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the Madison Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
NOTE: Sarepta Ellen Allison – Gilson – Rogers was first married to John Gilson 26 Sep 1871. Mr. Gilson died 09 Oct 1891. Sarepta remarried to Jeff Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was buried with her first husband.
NOTE: Although Mr. Rogers is not mentioned in Sarepta’s obit, her death certificate lists her as ‘Ellen Rogers’.
