Ruth M. Ross, 88, of Chester passed away on Friday April 12, 2013 in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital after becoming ill at home.
A daughter of the late Albert E. Barmer Jr. and Beulah Bell Allison Barmer, she was born in Chester on July 6, 1924.
Ruth retired from the Citizens Drug store in Chester where she worked as a clerk. Earlier she was a clerk at the former Hershey’s Drug store.
A graduate of the former Chester High School, she was a member of the Chester First Christian Church where she was active in the church bible school.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold A. Ross on April 1, 2010, and her sisters, Alice Manypenny, and Clara Wilson.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Dotson and her husband Mike, and Marlene Byrne both of Chester, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Private services will be held on Monday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with Pastor Larry Rose of the North Side Community Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
