EAST LIVERPOOL – Fred C. Smith, 88, of East Liverpool died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home. Born Sept. 21, 1924 in Hager, W.Va., a son of the late Leslie M. and Ada Adkins Smith.

A veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was retired from Crucible Steel Colt Industries where he had worked in cold strip dept. from 1942 until 1982. Fred was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening and dearly loved his beagles.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Smith, brothers, Carl and Augbert Smith and his sisters, Elva Davidson, Alma Powell and Phoebe Boswell.

He leaves behind his children and their spouses, Ralph and Penny Smith, Coshocton, Ohio, Denny and Pam Smith, Highlandtown, and Marie and Kenny Vincent, East Liverpool; grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy and Todd Schumaker, Jason and Shelly Smith, Joanne and Don Snyder, Tonya and Michael Hall, Angela and Dave Paterra and Jenna and Matt Smarrella; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Frank Smith, New Brighton, Pa., Donald Smith, Dohinda, Ill. and his dear sister, Helena Morgan, East Liverpool.

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. in the D.L. Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Avenue, Midland, Pa. 15059.

Interment will take place at a later time.
