Thomas C. Smith, 78, one of the first motormen on the Wellsville-East Liverpool streetcar line, died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.W. Shaw, here Friday at 10:45 a.m. following a three-week illness of heart disease. Mr. Smith was a son of Daniel and Clara Smith, formerly of Calcutta. His wife, Mrs. Anna Shannon Smith, died about 20 years ago. Besides his daughter, Mr. Smith leaves one brother, J.D. Smith of Britton, MI; one sister, Mrs. Jennie DuBois of Cleveland; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Yellow Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the Shaw home Saturday afternoon or night.

Note: Jennie’s married name is Boris rather than DuBois.
