Mrs. Stackhouse

Chester, W.Va. — Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Stackhouse, 80, of California Ave. died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center following a long illness. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Stackhouse was born here Feb. 9, 1904, a daughter of Thompson Allison and Sarah Stephens Allison. She had been employed at the Taylor, Smith and Taylor Co. and the Monarch China. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. On Feb. 9, she was married to Eugene O. Stackhouse. He died Aug. 18, 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Allison of Upper Saint Clair, Pa., Mrs. Frank (Shirley) Snowden of Redwood City, Calif., and Judy Stackhouse at home; five grandchildren and four great – grandchildren. Also surviving are a niece and two nephews, Harold (Mae) Spragg of Punta Gorda, Fla., Kent Manley of Chester and Gerald Manley of East Liverpool, whom she raised. Services are to be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Hartshorn. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
