ALVA TENCH, 100, EX-TRI-STATE AREA RESIDENT

HOOKSTOWN – Mrs. Alva Vern Baker Tench, 100, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Independence Township, Pa., died Wednesday, February 8, 1989, following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 11, 1888, in Glenwillard, Pa., a daughter of the late Phillip McNamee and Martha McClurg McNamee.

Before moving to Arizona about two years ago, Mrs. Tench attended the Community Bible Church of Aliquippa.

Survivors include two sons, John Baker of Georgetown and Phillip A. Baker of Hopewell Township; two daughters, Martha Jones of Wiarton, Pa., and Patricia Antell of Tucson; a sister, Martha Owens of Connecticut; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pastor Robert Kern of the church is to conduct services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Welch Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
