AN AGED RESIDENT
Died This Morning at the Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. R. J. Grosshans
Jane Thomas, widow of Uriah Thomas, and daughter of Elizabeth and Edward Crawford, died this morning at 6 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. J. Grosshans, on Broadway, after an illness of seven months. Deceased was born September 25, 1812, near Cannon’s Mills, in St. Clair township, this county. When two years of age she, with her parents, removed to a farm northwest of Fredericktown, where she continued to reside until a few months before her death. She leaves surviving her six children, Mrs. R. J. Grosshans, Mrs. B. F. Burklew, Mrs. William Smith, Mrs. James Longnecker, Martin E. Thomas and Alvin Thomas. There will be funeral services at the residence of John C. Thompson Thursday evening at 7 o’clock, where the remains may be seen until 9 o’clock that evening. The interment will be at the Mt. Zion M. E. church Friday at 11 o’clock, of which church the deceased was a life long member.
