Thomas R. Ward, 63

Chester – Thomas R. Ward, 63, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the East Liverpool City Hospital after becoming suddenly ill at home. Born Sept. 11, 1946, in East Liverpool, he is the son of the late Burton and Stella Ward. Tom retired from Janowski’s Restaurant having previously worked as a welder for the Dravo Corporation. He was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Chester and graduated form Oak Glen High School. Tom Served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a life member of both the Chester VFW No. 6450 and American Legion No. 121. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Ward. Surviving at home is his wife Ethel Gray Ward; five sons, Larry Ward, of East Liverpool, David Ward, of Hanover, Pa., Jerry Ward, of Aliquippa, Terry Ward, of Lisbon and Brian Ward, of Weirton; one daughter, Linda Ward, of Chester; two sisters, Patricia Blake, of Florida, and Elaine Smith, of East Liverpool; as well as 15 grandchildren. Pastor Wilmer Olszewski, of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, will officiate a graveside service Monday, April 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell, where he will be buried.
