Mrs. Frank Wern
Mrs. Nora Dean Wern, 75, wife of Frank Wern of Ridge Ave., New Cumberland, died Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville. She had been ill about two and a half years. Mrs. Wern was born March 6, 1874, in Shepherd’s Valley, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allison. She spent her lifetime in Hancock county. She was a member of the New Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She and Mr. Wern had been married 55 years. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Jane Kessel of New Cumberland, and Mrs. Edith O’Tool of Scottsdale, Pa.; six sons, Thomas K. Wern of East Liverpool, Charles Wern of Warren, O.; Harmon Wern of Eldersville, Pa., Gomer Wern of Wesminster, Md., Paul Wern of Weirton, and Sgt. William Wern of New Cumberland, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Herman McClain of Pittsburgh; a brother, Harvey Allison of East Liverpool, and 15 grandchildren and three great – grandchildren. Two other sons preceded her in death. Rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Fields Funeral Home at New Cumberland by Rev. W. H. Flurkey. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Pughtown. Friends may call at the funeral home.
