Obituary – Mrs. John Woodruff

Mrs. John Woodruff,
aged 74 years, wife of John Woodruff, of Second street, suddenly dropped dead by her bedside, while retiring, Sunday night (Nov. 18, 1900).
Mr. Woodruff has been ill for some time and the news seemed to stun him, and for awhile it was feared that it might cause him to take a turn for the worse.
Mrs. Woodruff’s maiden name was Sarah Smith. She was the daughter of Dr. Stephen Smith, and was born in Florence, Pa. In 1847 she married John Woodruff. They moved to this city in 1876, and have resided here since. Three children were born to bless the union, Mrs. T. W. Butler and Charles Woodruff, Wellsville, and George Woodruff, of this city.
The funeral took place Wednesday. Interment was made in Riverview.
