Castalia
William Joseph Yun, 81, of Castalia, passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1931, in Wakeman, son of the late Edward and Margaret (Messiar) Yun. William graduated from Wakeman High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a foreman at General Motors, where he worked for more than 39 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Perseverance Lodge 329 F. & A.M., and loved hunting and fishing.
William is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary (Strunks) Yun; son, Gary (Andrea) Yun, of Sandusky; stepchildren, Richard, Cynthia, James, Curtis, Frank and John; four grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Leon Yun, of Norwalk, and Bernie Yun, of Avon Lake, Ohio; sister, Mary Margaret Kuehner, of North Olmsted, Ohio; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bob and Ted.
At William’s request, family services will be private, and cremation will take place at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
